Advanced Hair Complex Treatment in Stockholm – AQ Scalp Treatment at Gloss & Floss

Hair loss is a symptom with many possible causes. At Gloss & Floss, we offer a consultation-led scalp treatment using AQ Advanced Hair Complex+, sometimes combined with controlled Dermastamp microneedling when appropriate. The service is cosmetic and does not replace medical investigation of alopecia or another underlying condition.

Our first priority is to assess what pattern of hair loss you are describing. Sudden, patchy, inflamed or unexplained hair loss should not automatically be treated cosmetically before a medical cause has been considered.

Quick answer

  • AQ Advanced Hair Complex+ is a topical serum that the manufacturer describes as intended to protect the scalp and hair and improve the appearance of hair quality and texture.
  • It is not a medicine for hair loss, and we do not promise hair regrowth or a specific result.
  • Dermastamp/microneedling may be included after individual assessment. Research supports microneedling as an adjunct in some androgenetic-alopecia protocols, but not specifically the Gloss & Floss combination with AQ serum.
  • Current price: 13,590 SEK for a course of five sessions.

What is AQ Advanced Hair Complex+?

AQ Skin Solutions describes Advanced Hair Complex+ as a product using patented Growth Factor technology, active ingredients and fruit oils. According to the manufacturer, it is intended to protect hair and scalp and improve the overall appearance of hair quality and texture. AQ also describes the product as suitable for both home use and professional treatment.

Manufacturer information is not the same as independent regrowth evidence

AQ’s product page does not constitute independent clinical proof of hair regrowth. Gloss & Floss therefore does not claim that the serum reliably activates dormant follicles, stops hair loss or produces a predictable increase in hair density.

Hair loss has many causes – assessment comes first

Official Swedish 1177 guidance notes that hair loss may be associated with heredity, hormonal changes, the period after pregnancy, infection or other illness, thyroid problems, iron deficiency, severe stress, some medicines, nutritional deficiency and scalp disease. Alopecia areata may present with clearly defined bald patches.

Gradual hereditary thinning

Androgenetic alopecia is the most common cause of hair loss. A cosmetic scalp programme can be discussed, but evidence-based medical options should also be understood.

Diffuse shedding

Diffuse loss can occur after stress, illness, weight loss, nutritional deficiency or hormonal change. Identifying the cause is more important than immediately choosing a cosmetic treatment.

Patchy hair loss

Bald patches can occur with alopecia areata and some scalp disorders and should be medically assessed rather than automatically treated with a cosmetic procedure.

Inflamed or painful scalp

Itching, redness, pain, scaling or sores can suggest a scalp condition. Active inflammation or infection is a reason to postpone microneedling until the cause has been assessed.

When should you seek healthcare?

Swedish 1177 guidance recommends contacting primary care if you lose a lot of hair and also feel unwell, if hair does not return within about six months, if the scalp is itchy/painful/red, if you develop bald patches or lose all hair, or if you suspect a medicine is causing the hair loss.

Read the official Swedish 1177 hair-loss guidance.

Dermastamp and scalp microneedling

When the scalp is suitable, Gloss & Floss may use controlled Dermastamp microneedling as part of the cosmetic treatment plan. The method creates small controlled microchannels in the skin. Technique, depth and timing should be adapted to the scalp and treatment goal.

It is important to distinguish between evidence for microneedling in general and evidence for AQ Advanced Hair Complex+ specifically. Research in androgenetic alopecia has mainly studied microneedling in combination with other treatments such as minoxidil, PRP or other topical approaches.

The video illustrates the Dermastamp/microneedling principle and should not be interpreted as proof of the effectiveness of a specific Gloss & Floss protocol.

How the Advanced Hair Complex treatment works

Consultation and history

We review how the hair loss developed, relevant illness, medicines, stress, diet/nutrition, previous treatments and your goals.

Scalp assessment

We look at the thinning pattern and check for irritation, redness, sores, scaling or other signs suggesting that medical assessment should take priority.

Topical treatment

AQ Advanced Hair Complex+ is applied to the scalp according to the planned cosmetic protocol.

Dermastamp when appropriate

Controlled microneedling may be used when suitable for the scalp and treatment goal. It is not automatically appropriate for everyone.

Aftercare and follow-up

You receive advice about cleansing, products, irritation and follow-up. If the hair-loss pattern changes or new symptoms appear, medical investigation may become appropriate.

What does the research say?

Microneedling in androgenetic alopecia

A 2024 systematic review and meta-analysis included 13 randomised trials involving 696 patients with androgenetic alopecia. Combined microneedling therapy showed better hair-density and hair-diameter outcomes than the compared monotherapy groups.

What the studies do not prove

The included studies assessed different combinations and protocols. They cannot be used as direct proof that AQ Advanced Hair Complex+ combined with the Gloss & Floss Dermastamp protocol will produce the same results.

Read the 2024 systematic review on PubMed.

Evidence-based medical treatments also exist

Swedish 1177 guidance lists minoxidil as an over-the-counter treatment option for hereditary hair loss. If you already use minoxidil, prescription treatment or are being investigated for hair loss, do not change your medical treatment on your own; a cosmetic scalp treatment should be considered separately and not as a substitute for medical care.

What can you realistically expect?

A responsible treatment plan should distinguish between hair/scalp quality and claims to medically treat alopecia. We do not promise reduced shedding, new hair growth, a specific number of new hairs or a guaranteed result within a set number of weeks.

What the treatment can and cannot promise
Reasonable treatment goalWhat we do not promise
Professional scalp treatment using AQ serum.Diagnosis or cure of an underlying disease.
Individually selected Dermastamp treatment when appropriate.Guaranteed hair regrowth or a specific increase in density.
Follow-up of how the scalp tolerates treatment. That the same method is equally suitable for androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, telogen shedding and scarring alopecia.
Referral to healthcare when symptoms suggest medical investigation. That cosmetic treatment replaces primary care, dermatology or evidence-based medicines.

Aftercare and safety

  • Follow the individual advice about cleansing and scalp products after treatment.
  • Avoid irritating a recently microneedled scalp with strong or unfamiliar products before the skin has recovered.
  • Tell us about skin disease, active scalp infection, medicines, bleeding problems, allergies and previous reactions before treatment.
  • Contact the clinic if you develop unexpected or increasing pain, swelling, marked redness or another reaction that concerns you.

Who performs the treatment?

Treatment is provided by trained staff at Gloss & Floss in Södermalm after individual assessment. Contact the clinic with questions about consultation and booking. Any product-and-microneedling protocol must follow the product’s intended application route and the device instructions; a topical product must not be injected.

If the pattern suggests disease, alopecia areata, significant inflammation or another condition requiring medical investigation, the appropriate next step is primary care or dermatology rather than immediately starting a cosmetic course.

Frequently asked questions about Advanced Hair Complex+ and hair loss

What is AQ Advanced Hair Complex+?

AQ Advanced Hair Complex+ is a topical serum from AQ Skin Solutions. The manufacturer describes it as a formula using Growth Factor technology, active ingredients and fruit oils, intended to protect the scalp and hair and improve the appearance of hair quality and texture. It is not the same as a medicine for hair loss.

Is Advanced Hair Complex+ proven to regrow hair?

There is not robust independent clinical evidence showing that AQ Advanced Hair Complex+ alone regrows hair across all forms of hair loss. Gloss & Floss therefore does not promise new hair growth or a specific result. The service should be viewed as a cosmetic scalp and hair-quality treatment after individual assessment.

Is there research on microneedling for hair loss?

Yes. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses have found that microneedling combined with other treatments can improve hair parameters in androgenetic alopecia. Those findings do not automatically prove the effectiveness of the exact Gloss & Floss combination of Dermastamp and AQ Advanced Hair Complex+.

Is this treatment suitable for every type of hair loss?

No. Hair loss can be hereditary, telogen-related, autoimmune, medication-related, nutritional, inflammatory, hormonal or scarring. If the cause is unclear or the pattern suggests disease, medical assessment should take priority over cosmetic treatment.

When should I seek medical care for hair loss?

Official Swedish 1177 guidance recommends contacting primary care if you lose a lot of hair and feel unwell, if hair does not return within about six months, if the scalp is itchy, painful or red, if you develop bald patches or lose all hair, or if you suspect a medicine may be causing the hair loss.

How is the treatment performed at Gloss & Floss?

Treatment begins with consultation and assessment of the scalp and hair-loss pattern. AQ serum is applied to the scalp, and controlled Dermastamp microneedling may be used when clinically appropriate. You then receive individual advice about scalp care and follow-up.

How many treatments are included in the Gloss & Floss course?

The current price list shows an Advanced Hair Complex course of five sessions. That does not mean five treatments are medically appropriate for everyone; suitability and follow-up are assessed individually.

How much does Advanced Hair Complex cost at Gloss & Floss?

The current Gloss & Floss price list shows 13,590 SEK for five Advanced Hair Complex sessions. The price was checked in September 2026 and should always be verified against the current price page before booking.

Does Dermastamp hurt?

Scalp microneedling can cause a stinging or tender sensation. Experience varies between individuals and depends on the treatment area and settings. The treatment should be adjusted or stopped if the skin does not tolerate it.

What downtime can I expect?

After Dermastamp, the scalp may be temporarily red, tender or sensitive. Duration varies. You receive individual advice about cleansing, products and when to return to your usual scalp-care routine.

When can I expect results?

Hair grows in slow cycles, and meaningful changes cannot be judged within a few days. We do not promise a fixed timeframe for reduced shedding or increased density because the cause of hair loss, follicle status and treatment response vary.

Can I use minoxidil at the same time?

Minoxidil is an over-the-counter medicine that Swedish 1177 guidance lists as a treatment option for hereditary hair loss. If you already use minoxidil or another medicine, do not change it on your own; tell us during consultation and follow advice from your doctor or pharmacist.

Can AQ Advanced Hair Complex+ be used at home?

AQ describes the product as suitable for both home use and professional treatment and publishes its own topical-use instructions. Any home routine is separate from the clinic procedure and should follow the manufacturer’s directions and individual advice.

What side effects or risks are possible?

Topical products can cause irritation or hypersensitivity. Microneedling can cause redness, tenderness, pinpoint bleeding or irritation and should not be performed over active infection or clearly damaged skin. Always tell us about skin disease, medicines, previous reactions and relevant medical conditions before treatment.

Who performs the treatment?

Treatment is provided at Gloss & Floss in Stockholm by trained staff after individual assessment. If the pattern of hair loss suggests disease or needs medical investigation, the patient should be directed to the appropriate healthcare pathway rather than automatically starting a cosmetic treatment course.

Start with an assessment

If your hair loss is gradual and you want to discuss a cosmetic scalp programme, you can book a consultation. If the hair loss is sudden, patchy, inflamed or accompanied by other symptoms, we recommend medical assessment first.
